Description
Our client is an international technology and services company focused on creating, expanding and improving ecommerce activities between trading partners around the world.

They are currently looking for an Enterprise Architect/Technical Consultant to join the South African team on a contract basis, you will be based at one of their clients’ sites in either Johannesburg CBD or Sandton.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This role will be challenged with taking the company's business strategy and then working in conjunction with existing architecture and technical resources in defining an information technology systems architecture / solution to support the broader strategy
• Must understand the business while still being able to delve into nitty-gritty technology issues
• Align business objectives with the IT infrastructure and enterprise journey
• Work closely with business and process analysts to examine existing business models and data flows
• Analysing existing systems;
translating business requirements into highly specified project briefs;
identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and
business suitability;
creating logical and innovative solutions to complex problems;
• Working closely with developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
• Ensure that the technology objectives of the enterprise are aligned to the business goals
Skills Required
Minimum 5yrs development experience (Enterprise Java and related technologies)
Minimum 4yrs integration experience (SOA environments, MQ, ESB and Web Services)
Experience in managing complex technical solutions and infrastructure (Linux, Java Application Server, MQ, DB and ESB)
Business acumen and ability to interact with multiple customers / stakeholders (at a relatively senior level)
Ability to effectively analyse and integrate complex customer environments
Communication is a key skill coupled with self-confidence
Must be able to talk in the language of technical developers and then switch to the language of business managers
Needs to demonstrate that they're on the cutting edge of enterprise software and SOA
Min 2yrs experience in a technical specialist / advisory / enterprise architect role
Must be able to function effectively as part of a bigger team

EDUCATION: Computer Science related degree
DURATION: 12 month contract
