Description
This position is responsible for translating client business requirements into
an application logical design that both meet the client’s need and conform to
the COMPASS architecture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These include:
• Utilize significant business and industry experience, and COMPASS
knowledge to translate client business requirements into COMPASS Logical Designs
that conform to the COMPASS architecture.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the core business functionality within COMPASS and leverage off existing functionality to satisfy new client requirements.
• Consult directly with clients, System Architect, Client Managers, Development staff and Business Analysts to compete logical designs. This includes resolving open issues,
clearly identifying and explaining base assumptions, and explaining the Logical
Design in a manner that is understandable to both a Business User and a Developer.
• Use your understanding of development tools including PL/SQL, Microfocus COBOL, Animator,
Oracle Forms, XML and java during the design phase to ensure a complete understanding of existing functionality.
• Develop an understanding of new technologies and how they apply and can be used to support the COMPASS application. This includes Java, XML and Multi-lingual tools.
• Coordinate all design efforts with other members of the System Architecture Team to
identify overlapping requirements and ensure any issues are resolved.
Skills Required
Bachelors Degree is required, with emphasis in Computer Science, Math or related
discipline. Candidate must be a business professional with a minimum of 3 years
in business analysis and/or development experience in the Financial Services or
Insurance Industry. Related industry experience may also be helpful (technical
or software sales support, client services, consulting, etc.). Practical
knowledge and experience with Oracle relational databases is required. Candidate
must be a proven self starter, capable of focusing simultaneously on multiple
tasks and, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
